The Egyptian Commission for Rights and Freedoms, a non-governmental human rights organisation, submitted a report to the Attorney-General on the detention and disappearance of Ibrahim Ezzeddin, a researcher in urban policy.

According to the complaint carrying the number 8077 for the year 2019 petitions of the Attorney General, security forces arrested Ibrahim and another man with him, from his home in Mokattam, last Tuesday evening.

The report pointed out that after the arrest of Ibrahim without declaring the permission of the Public Prosecution, he was taken to an unknown location, while Mokattam police denied detaining them.

The letter holds the Ministry of Interior the responsibility for the safety and security of Engineer Ibrahim Ezzeddine and the other young man arrested with him, and stressed the need to preserve his legal and constitutional rights.

The blind mother of the urban researcher sent a letter to the Attorney-General to demand the disclosure of the whereabouts of her son

The arrest of the urban researcher Ibrahim Ezz El-Din came after his criticism of the state’s urban policies, the manner of managing the slum file, his position on the new administrative capital and its feasibility, and his opinion regarding the issue of the Maspero Triangle and al-Warraq Island.
