The lawyer for the Egyptian Commission for Rights and Freedoms said that the administrative court has
postponed the appeal against the decision of preventing visits to the detained lawyer Ibrahim Metwally.
This came as part of the lawsuit filed against the prison administration’s decision to ban visits to the
lawyer and detainee in case No. 1470 of 2019 for allegedly publishing false news and joining a banned
group.
Metwally demanded during previous interrogation sessions that National Security officers are
investigated for torturing him during his period of enforced disappearance from October 14 until his
reappearance on November 5.
Metwally was arrested while travelling to Geneva for a meeting with the UN Working Group on Enforced
disappearances in case No. 900 of 2017 and was released in mid-October 2019 after two years in pre-
trial detention.
He was put on a new case, 1471 of 2019, on similar charges.
