The Court of Cassation is reconsidering a ruling which added head of the Strong Egypt Party Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh, his
son, and six others, to the terror list after the opposition politician filed an appeal.
A criminal court in southern Cairo previously issued the decision after the State Security Prosecution accused the defendants of
committing hostile operations against the state, its institutions and facilities and crimes that require them to be included on the
terror lists.
Fotouh has been in pre-trial detention since mid-February 2018 on case No. 440 for charges of spreading false news and leading
a banned group.
Many political activists have written about the deterioration of his health inside prison.
