Prosecution orders medical examination for detained lawyer Mohammad Ramadan

Al-Montazah prosecution has sent a letter to Borg Al-Arab prison’s chief, asking one of the prison doctors to examine the imprisoned lawyer Mohamed Ramadan to see if he needs treatment outside the prison, according to the Egyptian Commission for Rights and Freedoms. Ramadan told the Alexandria Criminal Court on February 19 that he is suffering from a blockage in the coronary artery and needs to be examined by a doctor. Ramadan said that the prison administration abstained from referring him to a heart specialist and transferring him to the hospital. Ramadan is a human rights lawyer accused of possessing five yellow jackets in preparation for Egyptian protests similar to the yellow vests protests in France. He was arrested on December 10, 2018.
