After a media controversy over coronavirus in Egypt, the Ministry of Health has declared that two people were infected with the virus. The Ministry of Health issued a statement saying that the first person improved and left the hospital and the second was a “foreigner” who was put in quarantine without clarifying any information about where the infected people are being held or the places they visited.
This comes after the Egyptian Minister of Health declared she was travelling to China to support the Chinese people and offer medical support to them. Her trip to China was the subject of controversy on social media sites, given that medical support and supplies can be provided without her needing to travel. The minister said in a press conference along with China’s ambassador to Egypt that the trip was a direct order from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
