The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population announced, late on Saturday night, that corona infections decreased to under 100 for the first time in five months.

The ministry recorded (officially) 89 new positive cases of coronavirus and 12 deaths during the past 24 hours, continuing the daily decrease in registered patients. The ministry stated that the total number of infections recorded in Egypt on Saturday is 97,237 cases, and 5,243 deaths. The ministry revealed that 800 people who have recovered from the coronavirus have been discharged from hospitals after receiving the necessary medical care according to the World Health Organisation guidelines, bringing the total of those recovering to 65,118 cases.

Experts say that the world is threatened by a second wave of coronavirus, which will be twice more durable than the first wave, calling for a firm strategy to deal with the virus.
