Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights announced the death of Mohammed Subhi, 74, yesterday, Wednesday, in the police station of the first district of Zagazig in the Delta of Egypt, due to deliberate medical negligence against him, after being deprived of medication despite his old age and suffering from water on the lung.

Al-Shehab held the Egyptian Ministry of Interior responsible for the death and called on the Egyptian Public Prosecution to investigate the citizen’s death and refer those involved in it to accountability. The center also called for the release of all detainees to avoid the dangers of the Corona epidemic.

Subhi is the first death from medical negligence in prisons and various detention centers in December, and the seventy-second case in 2020.
