The Zamalek Club Supporters Association has published a statement through its official accounts on social media in which it appealed to the Presidential Pardon Committee to release its president, Sayed Ali Fahim, who is known as Sayed Mushaghib, after nearly seven years of imprisonment. The Cairo Criminal Court sentenced Mushaghib to seven years in September 2017. The association announced its support for the Presidential Pardon Committee, asking it to help Mushaghib escape prison. A member of the Presidential Pardon Committee, Tariq Al-Awadi, announced his support for the appeal and demanded that the pardon lists include Mushaghib.

Mushaghib’s case dates back to February 8, 2015, when 20 Zamalek fans were killed before a match between Enppi and Zamalek at the Air Defense Stadium. The Ministry of the Interior was exempted from responsibility despite being responsible for securing the game.
