EHRF Condemns Travel Ban on Political Dissident Hisham Kassem and Calls for Immediate Lifting of Restrictions on him

Egyptian Human Rights Forum (EHRF) condemns the travel ban imposed by the Egyptian authorities on prominent political dissident Hisham Kassem two days ago, while he was en route to Sarajevo to attend a conference titled “The Arab Democratic Covenant: A Roadmap for Arab Democracy.”

EHRF calls for the immediate revocation of the ban and demands that Kassem be permitted to exercise his right to freedom of movement. Furthermore, it urges the authorities to cease the ongoing security and judicial harassment against him, considering these actions to be part of a broader campaign of repression targeting freedom of expression and political opposition in Egypt.

Hisham Kassem, a prominent publisher and political dissident, is well-known for his outspoken criticism of the current regime and the military’s control over Egypt’s governance and economy.
