Huge population increase expected in Egypt

The Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) in Egypt has
declared its expectations regarding the population census in the coming 30 years.
The indications show that Egypt’s population may reach 191.3 million in 2052.
CAPMAS published several analytical studies on the impact of the population
increase on several sectors in Egypt including the labour force, education, health and
internal migration between 2017 and 2052.
Albawaba news website said on Sunday that studies said the population is expected to
rise from about 95.5 million in 2017 to 153.7 million in 2052, up 58.2 million people.
Egypt’s population will reach 191.3 million people in 2052 if current reproductive
levels continue to be as high as 4.3 children per woman.
According to Shorouk newspaper, this will lead to a big increase in the number of
students in different stages of education, which requires doubling the number of
teachers, schools and different educational requirements to accommodate the
increase.
