On Monday, Economy Plus reported that the Electricity Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency is currently working on studies of electricity tariffs and scenarios for increased prices. Reports have said that there are three scenarios regarding electricity prices. The first includes adjusting prices according to what was supposed to be applied in the restructuring program for the fiscal year 2022-2023 and using that from January to July. The second includes an increase in the tariff by a more significant percentage, while the third consists of continuing the same prices until July.
According to experts, prices were calculated based on the dollar exchange rate of about 17.5 pounds, and any increase in the exchange rate will result in moving costs. The exchange rate of the dollar in pounds reached 19.53 pounds on Monday.
