Prisoners complain of medical negligence in Egypt’s Gamasa Prison

A lawyer for the Egyptian Commission for Rights and Freedoms filed a report on Wednesday against Gamasa Prison’s governor regarding the medical neglect of a prisoner. The Egyptian Commission said in a statement that the detainee Saad Ahmed Diaa al-Deen is not appropriately treated for his heart disease, arthritis, hypertension and diabetes. Al-Deen has been detained for more than five years pending investigation into case No.735 of 2015 for the stereotyped charge against political detainees of joining a terrorist organisation.
