The famous Nile ferry, Gold’s Gym, sunk in the waters of the Nile River (west of Cairo), due to the heavy sporting equipment and machines on board.

On Friday, Egyptians woke up to the news that the ferry had sunk and that the sports equipment and devices inside the ferry had been lost. Eyewitnesses added that there were no workers or supervisors on board during the accident, as everyone left the Nile boat hours before the accident. Eyewitnesses told Egypt Watch that the sinking of the ferry dates back to around a year ago. Despite calls for renovation, the damage was enough to eventually cause the third floor to collapse entirely due to the weak structure of the ferry.
