Corona infections in Egypt re-break a thousand cases daily rate

Egypt re-recorded more than a thousand cases of people infected with the emerging Coronavirus (Covid-19) for the first time in months.

On Sunday, the Ministry of Health announced the registration of 1189 new cases of Coronavirus (compared to 911 cases on Wednesday), which raises the number of infections to 131,315 cases.

The ministry also announced the registration of 43 new death cases of the virus, which brings the number of deaths to 7,352. The ministry pointed out that the total number of people recovering from the virus increased to 109,462 cases. The Egyptian authorities say that 80% of cases infected with the Coronavirus are simple and do not need hospitals, indicating that treatment is provided to all patients, whether in hospitals or home isolation, free of charge. And the Minister of Health, Hala Zayed, announced this month that she would circulate the protocol for diagnosing and treating Corona cases to medical teams in all private sector hospitals, in a new indication that the numbers are expected to exceed the capabilities of government hospitals.

A few days ago, a member of the Supreme Committee for Viruses at the Ministry of Higher Education in Egypt, Wajida Anwar, said that it is noticeable that the spread is faster in the second wave, but the symptoms are less severe. During television statements, she expected that Egypt would reach the second wave’s climax at the end of next January.
