The Supreme Council of Universities in Egypt announced the cancellation of the written and oral exams for the second semester of all colleges due to the spread of coronavirus in the country. The written exams were replaced by research theses in the courses that were taught in the second semester. The council decided to exclude the grades that were scheduled for this semester from the total score for all academic years. For colleges or academic programmes for which limited numbers of students are enrolled, electronic exams will be held, provided that the infrastructure and technological capabilities that enable them to take the tests electronically are available to all students. Students in the final school band in all colleges will not have their exams cancelled but instead postponed until the end of the suspension period.
The council decided to form a committee to follow up on the implementation of decisions, and to receive any inquiries from universities regarding their implementation.
